The Divine Deep

The Depths of Immersion

A hypnotic audiovisual piece that translates sound into motion, using repetition, darkness, and resonance to sustain immersion.

Role

Designed motion from sound

Creative Direction, Producer & Editor

Scope

4,597 frames from sound

Converted audio data into image movement, developed roughly 4,597 image prompts and frames, and shaped the rhythm of the work in collaboration with composer Alana.

Results

A meditative afterimage

Formed a meditative, lingering experience where repetition and sonic depth create afterimage, calm, and emotional suspension.

On The Divine Deep, Light led the visual direction and motion system while collaborating with Alana on the composition and sound. He converted audio data into movement inputs, used those signals to drive AI-assisted image generation, and built a sequence of 4,597 images that responds to tone, rhythm, and frequency.

Testing was central to the piece. Light used audience feedback to refine duration, pacing, and repetition so the work would hold attention rather than flatten out. The result is a slow, immersive build where motion, darkness, and sound reinforce each other instead of competing for attention.

The project demonstrates producer-minded experimentation: translating a concept into a repeatable workflow, shaping collaboration across visual and audio disciplines, and using iteration to control the final emotional effect.
