Built the visual escalation, handcrafted the audio in Reaper, and shaped the work around an intensifying sensory arc representing psychosis.
Delivered a visceral, empathy-driven piece that uses horror language to create a more embodied understanding of mental health experience.
The “Eyes of the Beholder", developed by Light Alasady, leverages cutting-edge video editing, mixed with AI technologies to create a profound and immersive demonstration centred around mental health, particularly psychosis. This project exemplifies the innovative use of a hybridised artistic approach to offer users a deep exploration of anxiety, fear, and psychosis through a dynamic and evolving environment, showcasing the potential for future applications.
Throughout this experience a central figure gradually moves into the centre of the screen, culminating in an overwhelming sensory climax that combines intense audio and visual stimuli to simulate the peak of a psychotic episode. This immersive demonstration offers a visceral understanding of mental health challenges.
The audio for the project was handcrafted by Light using Reaper, creating a dynamic binaural audio system that immerses the viewer in an auditory landscape filled with ambient whispers and overlapping voices. This audio environment evolves into a crescendo of sensory overload, simulating the intense experiences associated with psychosis. Light's attention to detail ensures the main character's silhouette remains identifiable throughout, maintaining a sense of movement and coherence.
Through "Eyes of the Beholder," Light demonstrates the potential of blending AI and human crafted elements to create compelling, artistic experiences. His meticulous approach, and innovative use of technology result in a visually stunning, emotionally resonant journey, designed to foster empathy and awareness about mental health. This project showcases how art and technology can intersect to create impactful, transformative experiences, pushing the boundaries of digital artistry.
